My Best Friends' Tenth Wedding Anniversary

Parties are part of our social life. You can never live without it unless you decide to live like a hermit all your life. It is the only time that our family, friends and love ones gather together to share such a momentous occasion with us. Last Sunday was one of these momentous occasions. I was invited to my friends’ tenth wedding anniversary party. Both of them are my classmates back in grade school and high school. Both of them are my good friends as well. However I still have second thoughts since I know it is going to be a huge event and it is going to be too crowded for me. I could cook up an alibi and I know they will believe me. But I have been ignoring their invitations way too many times already. In spite of my antisocial behavior, I decided to show up even for just an hour or too.

Their home is just three blocks away from where I live. But I have not been there for a long period of time. The house still looks the same except for the added window shutters and window boxes. They also added a small swimming pool in the back yard. Their patio where the party was set up was adorned with these elegant looking exterior wall lights called The Carrington Style - One Lamp Lantern Fixture which seems to be noticed by everybody. According to my friend they only ordered these Amber Marbelize Glass shade exterior wall lights since they were highly recommended by one of their relatives. They were thinking of buying the wall lights made of ceramics until the Carrington Style - One Lamp Lantern Fixture caught their eye.

The party was a success! I survived! I have reunited with my old friends and realized how much I missed them. I know I will not be seeing them for a long time since most of them are living abroad and this is the only time that they happen to be home. I am glad that I attended their party.

Celebrating Christmas

http://www.fabby.com/outdoor-wall-sconce.html?p=2

Christmas is my favorite time of the year. I lost count how many times I have said it but I do not mind saying it again over and over again. It is quite funny though that it is also the time of the year where I am most broke. But just like a famous line from the song Hand in my pocket goes, “I’m broke but I’m happy.”

I am not a party person. I do not like crowds. I do not like cooking. I do not like cleaning before and after the party but Christmas day is an exception. It is the busiest time for me I guess. But I do not mind being busy this time of the year of every year because all my family, friends and love ones will be around to celebrate the birth of Christ. I am in luck since my brother who is a great cook is also coming home to celebrate. He is more than willing to prepare the food considering my talents for cooking. Besides this time around I have save enough money to hire some help to do the cleaning of the house. This time around we decided to hold the party in the backyard since we are expecting more people. I also bought several ceramic exterior wall lights specifically the 7” Big Star Cylinder Sconce with Side Vents just for the party. My nieces and nephews will definitely love it just like I did the first time I saw it online. The unique star design and the star designed pattern on the both sides can enchant anyone. In addition, I was told that cleaning will not be a problem. All it needs a dry cloth for dusting and a medium size 150 grit sandpaper for removing fingerprints and smudges.

Christmas is not all about partying. We can party till we drop but let us not forget what Christmas really means. It is about the birth of our Savior who without him there is no Christmas for all of us.

Ceramic Children's Lamp As Our Night Lamp

http://www.fabby.com/childrens-lights/childrens-table-lights-lamps.html

Lighting fixtures in any form can be considered a basic necessity in every home that we cannot afford to lose. Just like our food and clothing, the lighting fixtures in our home are also important. It is not for aesthetic reason alone. It is also for the fact that these lighting fixtures can keep us safe or make us feel secure especially at night just like what our night light or table lamps.

When we were kids I know that most of us get scared easily just like most normal kids feel especially when there is a power outage all of a sudden. We felt even more frightened if these power outages happen at night especially during a thunderstorm. So we either hide in the security of our blankets or run to our parents’ room. It is also no secret that my brother’s and I always keep a night light on. The artfully designed kids’ lamps which were our constant companion at night serve us our night lamp. It was made of ceramic. The design of that ceramic children’s lamp look so much like the 13" Home Sweet Home Ceramic Table Light in one of the stores I found online. There was something in that particular design that made us feel secured and comforted even after our mom would left our room.

It does not matter if you were born in the 70’s, 80’s, 90’s or the present generation. We were all vulnerable once upon a time. Through the security of the night lamps which our parents’ made sure that are always on, we know that their love and protection is always there. Through those lamps our parents want us to know that everything is under control. We also use to cry easily. We were all dependent to our parents. We also know that they will always protect us no matter what. That even as we age, we still seek their love and protection for some reason.
