Do You Sleep With The Lights Off Or Lights On?

Some of us prefer sleeping with the lights on. Whiles others prefer to sleep in complete darkness and there are those who prefer sleeping with minimal lights on. At home we normally just turn off all the bedroom lights off but keep the sconce lights on outside our bedroom then keep the bedroom doors ajar. This way we can sleep comfortably at night as it is neither too dark nor too bright. We have this kind of set up since we were kids. We were watching too much horror movies back then which often give us a scare at night. But now that we are all adults we still keep the lights not because we are afraid of sleeping in the dark but because we are used to it. It is for safety reasons as well as there are times that we wake up in the middle of the night either to go to the rest room or get some water to drink.

It is a relief that my mother bought our first ceramic lamps, the 18" Random Circles Ceramic Ceiling Light. The ceramic lighting fixture is a work of art made from earthen clay. The light coming out from its circle patterns is a sight to behold. We were entranced by it the first time we turned it on. But it is too bright to be a night lamp so we were advised to have dimmers installed in each of the ceramic lamps so we keep adjust it from brilliant to subtle. In addition, we had the light bulbs changed to LED to save from electric bills.

According to Arthur Schopenhauer, "Each day is a little life: every waking and rising a little birth, every fresh morning a little youth, every going to rest and sleep a little death." Getting a good night sleep is important to our health. It is important that we should get enough sleep everyday. Either we get cranky or too lazy to work if we are missing sleep even for a few hours. Perhaps to some, five hours of sleep is enough. But for most of us, missing sleep is tormenting. We do crazy things and say stupid things when we lack sleep.
