Celebrating Father's Day

 

In a few days, we will be celebrating Father's Day in honor to all the fathers in the world. However, I cannot think of a single gift I could give to my father. I know he would welcome any gift I will give him but I want it to be something special. Thankfully my mom hinted that my father have been spending his precious time redecorating his study.

I have been thinking of sending him flowers or plants on Father's Day. In addition to that, I will be giving him one of my ceramic table lamps. The Tree Trunk Table Lamp will look wonderful in his study. It will blend well with the walls which are made of wood. I know he will love it since this ceramic table lamp is made of natural materials which are white clay and resin. He does not want anything which is not Eco-friendly in his house. Even if a product cost much, as long as it is Eco-friendly he will buy it. Surely, the ceramic table lamp which I will give him will pass his high standards since the table lamp is intricately handcrafted. The only problem is that he might think that this lamp is made from real tree and might be upset once he received it. But then again, he is my father. There is no other people besides him and mom who knows me best. He knows that I am just like him. Like him, I would never ever patronize anything that harmed Mother Nature in anyway. 

Father's day only comes once in a year and it should be celebrated with a blast. For me it should be celebrated everyday because all fathers deserved to be celebrated.

My Bestfriend's Advance Housewarming Gift

 

The tree trunk table lamp in my living room makes a great addition to my new home. This was an advance housewarming gift from my best friend who cannot make it on Saturday because of  a business trip abroad. She just ordered the ceramic table lamp online and have it delivered to my doorstep. I want to feel bad that she will not be around on that momentous day. But I know how important that business trip abroad is for her. She had been talking about it since I moved in to my new home. Had I told her earlier about the party, she might have second thoughts of going. 

How she knows me well. She knew that the tree trunk table lamp will somehow appease me. She knew how much I love ceramic lamps just like the ceramic table lamp she gave me.  The trunk table lamp may look like real wood at first glance. But in fact it is made from resin and ceramic. If I had not opened the gift my self, I would have taken the ceramic table lamp as wood. But I also know that my best friend loves nature as well as I do. She would not dare give me anything which could have destroyed Mother Nature in any way. Although my house is made of wood but no trees were cut for my satisfaction. These are what experts call reclaimed lumber or processed wood which came from timbers rescued from old barns, factories and warehouses.

Just like the my new house, the ceramic table lamp is perfect. It's unique and chic design blends well in my new home. It is also Eco-friendly. But what I love the most about the new lamp is that it is using LED bulb. From what I know, you have to request for LED bulbs. Well, she isn't my best friend for nothing. 

Benefits And Features Of Energy-Efficient Lamps

Many of us do not care much about the lighting fixtures we have at home. It does not matter if they are already unflattering to the interior design of our home. The most important thing is that it is able to provide illumination. It should also be energy-efficient and safe to use. However, home lighting fixtures are not a mere electrical device which brightens our home. They can be a great decoration on our wall or ceiling. In addition, they can also make an attractive piece if placed on our coffee table, desk or bedside table.

 

Every time we decide to buy a lighting fixture for our home, it is right that we should consider its benefits and features first. We should always go for energy saving lamps such as LED (light emitting diode) lamps and CFL (compact fluorescent) lamps. They have lower electrical consumption compared to incandescent lamps. They also last longer.  Some might have second thoughts about buying these energy saving lamps since they are a bit costly compared to incandescent lamps. However, these LED lamps and CLF lamps last longer and uses less energy. We have compared the electrical bills we have before we were using LED lamps and after we replaced one light bulb to LED. Our bill since we replaced one light bulb to LED is 15 per cent lower which is already a huge saving.

Aside from energy-efficiency and cost-effectiveness, we should also only buy lighting fixtures which are safe to use or are UL approved such as the ceiling lights we have at home-the 13" Home Sweet Home Ceramic Table Light. This cute ceramic table lamp is a great decorative piece in my niece bedroom. We called to have it customized the bulb to LED. We also requested a dimmer as this ceramic table lamp makes a great night light. The stored offered to customize the color of the ceramic table lamp but we like it as it is. Besides, we can repaint it ourselves if we decide to change its color in the future.
