Lights Represent World Peace!

May 24, 2013 marks a momentous event for Filipinos here and abroad when they were honored by the Guinness World Records representatives for having the Most Number Of Sky Lanterns Released Simultaneously ( 15,185 sky lanterns ) in the football field of University of the Philippines Visayas, Miagao, Iloilo. Philippines has taken the title from Romania who released 12,470 sky lanterns back in 2012.


The aim of the Inaugural Light of Peace Event is to promote world peace through inner peace. But how does this event impacts the world? It is believed the resolving inner conflicts or conflicts within self promotes good attitude and develops wisdom. Through meditation you purify your self. It also heals you physically and mentally. Moreover, you develop an open-mindedness and you see the whole picture in high definition. Thus, decision making becomes easy because your mind becomes focus and you see things clearly. If all of us practice regular meditation then it is like heaven here on earth because there is a 100% chance that conflicts and wars between nations will end.

 

Before you meditate, first, you have to relax your body by deep breathing, taking a short nap, yoga, taking a stroll in the park or drink some tea or milk. It is also important that your meditation haven should be quiet to avoid distractions. Your room or attic should be the best option. Make sure that your room is free from all the clatter . You can light a candle or three or turn on the sconces in your meditation haven. It also helps if you burn some incense to calm your nerves. You can also add fresh flowers or plants in your room. They are one of the best stress relievers. Make your self as comfortable as possible by taking a warm bath and wearing your most comfortable clothes. Most people who meditate sits in the Indian style position or in lotus position. However if this makes you uncomfortable , sit on the chair or sit in any position which makes you comfortable. Then count your breathing. It is one count every time you breathe out. If a thought pops into your head, just acknowledge and let it go. Just continue counting and eventually you will enter a state of calmness.

Oftentimes you hear people say that all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. In order to live a normal, peaceful and contented life we should learn how to balance our work and life. Walking helps. You can go on a stroll early in the morning before going to work. Instead of driving your car to work, why not ride a bike to work-only if it is nearby. Otherwise you will look sweaty and tired. A good work also helps. You can enroll yourself to a gym. It will not only help you maintain a sound mind but it will also help you achieve the body you always dreamed of. If you are too burn out to work, go out on a short trip or vacation. Pamper yourself. Enjoy a good massage or spa. You deserve pampering after working so hard.


You can also learn a new hobby or activity. How about doing some artwork painting to your walls? You should also make sure that you are using bright white interior wall lights or ceiling lights in every room in your house to improve your mood. If possible open the windows in your house and use curtains with lively colors. Do not forget to add plants. A lot of people say that plants brighten up their moods whenever they see it.

Conquer Our Fears With Bedroom Wall Light




Being afraid is not something that we want to feel. However it is a feeling that we have no control over. Most of our fears are rooted to a terrifying childhood experience or a traumatic incident that left us almost emotionally handicapped for most of our life. There are times that we try to put on a brave face if we encounter a similar experience which triggers our fear. But most of the time we fail. There are times that we carry these fears in our sleep causing us to dream unpleasantly or to have nightmares. Some people are even afraid to fall asleep because their fears and distress manifest in their nightmares. Fortunately there are treatment or therapy that will help those who have recurring nightmares to live a normal life.


I have my share of nightmares too. I fear the night because it is the vampires' and other evil nocturnal beings' waking hours. It is the time that they hunt humans for food. I know that they are not true but because of the horror movies I watched as a child, I believed them. It was only until later that I realized how childish that was but then again, I cannot choose my dreams like the rest of us. However, out of a habit I always leave the bedroom wall light on before going to sleep. Partly, because I feel secure and comforted when it is on. But most importantly, leaving the lights on is convenient. It saves me from bumping into something or tripping on my way to get a drink of water or a trip to the bathroom which always leave ugly bruises. Moreover, it keeps the burglar away.

 

We have no control over our dreams and nightmares. However we can do something about the unpleasant experiences which cause these to happen. It may take some time to overcome such a traumatic experience but the most important thing is we are doing something about conquering the things that make us handicapped emotionally and psychologically.

When was the last time that you have look up the sky and enjoyed watching the beauty of the stars and the moon? Stargazing is one of the cheapest treats of mother nature. When artificial lights where not yet invented as well as the television set, DVD player, and other forms of entertainment, our forefathers were able to enjoy the luxury of watching the stars and other celestial bodies even studied them. Well, it is not too late to watch to enjoy stargazing. However, before you go out you need to check first if the sky is clear by watching the weather reports or checking the weather online. A clear sky means it is okay to stargaze. Do not forget to wear the right clothes. It can be chilly outside.

If you are planning to go to a specific area for stargazing, go with a friend or group of friends or your family members. It is going to be a different bonding experience which all of you will enjoy. Do not forget to bring flashlights and insect repellants. It is also wise and safe to stargaze in your own yard or your friends' yard. 


According to some, it is best to watch the stars by lying back. So remember to bring a blanket or a picnic rug with you. If you are not comfortable with lying back, you can bring a recliner or sleeping bag or whichever makes you comfortable. Moreover, you can bring a binocular or telescope to get up close and personal with the stars. In addition, do not forget to bring food and a warm drink. Lastly, give your eyes enough time to adjust in the dark for about five to thirty minutes.

However, if stargazing is too much of a luxury for you especially if you are always on the go, you can decorate your room with glow in the dark stars and other heavenly objects. Enjoy The Luxury Of Sleep Wall Lamps Or Bedside Lamps


Call center representatives, security guards, medical staffs, firefighters, newscasters and anyone who is working around the clock often has sleeping problems or disorders. Normally, we sleep during the night and are awake during the day. On the other hand there are those people who adapts the habit of an owl, a nocturnal bird which is normally wide awake or active at night and are normally inactive or asleep during the day. They are called the night owls.


Night owls or evening persons prefer working at night or graveyard shifts and sleeping in the morning because of their sleeping habits. They are also referred by some people to be vampires because of this. Oftentimes they are regarded as lazy people because of their inability to stay active during the day. If you are an evening person then you will understand. If you are not, then it is time that you should. Night owls are not lazy people. It just so happen that the body clock of night owls is different that most people(morning person or larks) who sleeps at night and are active in the morning.


While the night owls enjoy the luxury of sleep most of the day or larks during the night, there are those who do not because of stress. I used to think of my self and others who are having difficulties sleeping at night as insomniacs. But I realize that I am far from it because I can still sleep soundly eight to nine hours everyday. Insomniacs on the other hand are having difficulties sleeping or staying as sleep like most normal people do. The only way they can get a decent sleep is when they take sleeping pills, antihistamines or downers like Diazepam or Valium. However insomnia can be prevented if you make your bed as comfortable and cozy; taking a warm bath two hours before going to bed; avoiding caffeine or eating three hours before going to bed; turning out the lights such as your wall lamps or bedside lamps before sleeping; and exercise regularly.

Use Energy Saving Bulbs In Your Wall Lights For A Better World



Almost all of us wants to be a hero in our own little way. We do not need capes, suits, masks, and superpower abilities or a super brilliant mind like Batman to save and protect not only the the ones we love but also the world. We do not need to be vigilantes as well. All we need is a heart and compassion to make a difference, perseverance, and dedication. Saving the world is not just a one day job. It is a lifetime opportunity.


Still want to save the world? You can, by starting in your home. Do you know that you are helping in saving the world my using energy saving bulbs in your wall lights such as LED lights of light-emitting diode, halogen or compact florescent lamps? It does not cut down your electricity bill but it also helps reduce air and water pollution. Remember that some electric companies here and abroad still run on fossil fuels and coals which emits a whooping 21.3 gigatonnes of carbon dioxide, a greenhouse gas which is a big contributor of global warming. But even if your electric company runs on the solar energy, nuclear, hydroelectric, solar, wind, or geothermal, you still need to learn in save energy. Change starts from within.



Another way of saving the world is by planting trees. Trees help control the global warming, floods, oil erosion and landslides. Moreover, trees produce oxygen. It also filters the air we breathe. Planting more trees and plants is a much better option compared to humidifiers and air conditions. It is free.

Moreover, you can make a huge contribution in saving the world by following the three Rs in waste management- reduce, reuse and recycle. Waste reduction can be achieved by turning off your electric appliances or electric lamps when not in use, using energy saving lamps and carpooling. Reusing can be done by donating those items that you are no longer using such as old clothes. An example of recycling is when you make a chair out of plastic bottles.

Being a hero is not easy. However, if being one can make this world a better place, we don't need another planet to live in.
