We heard several means and ways in how to conserve energy. We also heard that there are also some companies who are pushing the use of alternative energy. These alternative energy such as solar energy and wind turbines will not only save the planet from global warming but it will also help in lowering our electric bills. In California and New Jersey, solar power plants were built in the vast dessert and toxic landfills respectively, to meet the high demand of power supply of every household in each states.
However, if every citizen of this nation uses solar energy or wind turbines to power their homes starting from the exterior wall lights and other luminaries to the highly powered heating and cooling system, there is a huge possibility that the economy of the nation will collapse. All employees who worked for the traditional electric power plants will lose their job. It is probably one of the reasons why the manufacturing of bio cars not encouraged. But as more people become aware of the environmental issues that threaten the survival of everyone, energy efficiency programs are implemented. The implementation of this program does not only benefit the consumers but the public utilities who provides our electricity as well because this means that the energy they save can be sold to more consumers. This may not be the exact solution which will address the effects of global warming but somehow this is one of way of saving energy while protecting the economy. Perhaps in the near future they might embrace the use of alternative energy.
Public and private sectors are working hand in hand to come up with ideas that will solve the world's energy crises. As individuals, we must also do our share by making sure that we do not waste electricity. We can start by replacing all non-energy saving light bulbs to energy saving light bulbs. Another way, is by daylighting. But that is another story.
